#FollowFriday - @IdentityG: The Official Twitter profile of Identity Guard

I don't follow many "corporate" or commercial Twitter accounts. Life's too short and I have too many real people* to follow. The exceptions I make are... exceptional. Enter Identity Guard, aka @IdentityG. This Twitter account provides its followers with some really solid information on the latest scams and risks that pop up on the internet. They're very active in social media and have a podcast and blog where you can get additional information.

As consumers who rely on the internet more and more for everything from buying goods and services to keeping in touch with friends it's good to recognize that there are some bad folks out there who want your information. Having a source of good information like Identity Guard is one weapon, among what should be many, to protect you from those people. So follow @IdentityG and have a good (and safe) weekend!

[Today is the last day for our current poll, so if you haven't voted, please take a little time and respond. This is likely to be our last poll for a while, so please let your voice be heard.

We are still working on our fund-raising drive so that we can afford to move to a new server and bring you a number of improvements to the site. So far we've reached 25% of our goal, and we are very grateful to our donors. We know that some of you would like to donate, but can't afford to, and others won't donate for a number of other reasons. For those of you who are still on the fence about donating, let us tell you a little about what we've got planned. We'd like to reduce the amount of advertising on the site so we can dedicate more screen space to content. We are also planning on setting up forums where you can talk with other readers and discuss the latest reviews, products you wish we'd review, speculate wildly on future releases, or products you wish someone would produce. We want to create new categories of reviews to cover games and other ways that technology can enhance our lives without necessarily adding to the corporate bottom line. We hope that these are improvements you'd like to see, too.

We'll be back next Monday with a new review. But on Sunday, December 19th, our Editor, will be launching a new podcast, The Shrinking Man Project, to follow his efforts to lose weight and get into shape. We hope that if you have some time to spare, you'll check it out and offer your encouragement to this new project. - Editor]

*Note: If you run a corporate blog/Twitter account show some personality and/or give up some really crucial or interesting information.
